April Johnston has been writing for newspapers, magazines and strategic communications offices in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, West Virginia and Ohio for 15 years. She’s won more than 30 national, regional and state awards for her work. After earning her MFA from Carlow University in 2008, she began publishing essays and short fiction. A return to journalism in 2014 resulted in the narrative nonfiction piece Twin, which was named a category finalist in the Eric Hoffer Book Awards.
